Pilgrim's Publications
Here you will see all the publications from members of The Pilgrim Church; from books, to music you'll get a small taste of the varied talents we have. If you like anything you see, contact us.
Over the years, the young members of the Pilgrim Church have benefited from the wide range of activities organised by its various departments. In recent years, the Pilgrim Youth Department has organised the bulk of these activities.
With the aid of 900 photographs and a collection of written diary entries, reports and commentaries from past and present Pilgrim Youth staff and members, we remember some of these fun events and activities which we have enjoyed together since the creation of the Primary Ministry in the early 1980s.
Reverend Canon Christian Weaver was born in the Caribbean island of Antigua. He responded to The Divine Call on his life in 1960 which led to his lifelong vocation and pastoral service in the Christian faith. His dedication and commitment in initiating, pioneering and establishing the Pilgrim Church has ‘paved the way’ for, and resulted in the renewed conviction of many souls!
He and his wife Daisy have been married since 1962 and have both worked selflessly in church planting and administration. They have four children: David, Julia, Mark, Stephen and two grand-children. Daisy comes from a musical family and is Church Organist, Music and Choir Director for Pilgrim Church. Reverend Canon Christian Weaver is The Head and National Superintendent of The Pilgrim Church.
Whilst Reverenced Weaver has been central to the establishment of the Pilgrim Church for many years in the United Kingdom, 2013 marks the 50th year anniversary celebration of this church in Nottingham which he pioneered with others. This book bears witness to the Glory of God as the manifestation of the fruits of his labour and is equally expressed through the testimonies of these wonderful Christians.
Vida Theodosia Harris was born in Jamaica 1935, where she experienced an idyllic Caribbean childhood. She migrated to the United Kingdom in 1957, and worked as a nurse for many years in the Nottingham Health Service. Now retired, she has many interests ranging from poetry, gardening, singing, visiting residents at Nursing Homes and enjoying time with her family.
Central to Vida’s life is her Christian faith, which transformed her life many years ago. This has helped her to face many challenges. The loss of her youngest daughter, Hannah Marie, who was one of the 51 lives lost on the Marchioness Disaster on the River Thames in August 1989, has not diminished her faith.
Many of Vida’s observations have been gathered from her extensive travel which she articulates through her poetry. The poems in this book are a selection of Vida’s written work and her collaboration with Hannah.
Life changed dramatically for the author when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Here she tells her story with its many twists and turns in the hope that it will help others in a smilier predicament. In her journey from fear to faith the Bible verse All things work together for good to them that love God became especially real to her.
